Domestic workers can return to Kuwait starting December 7
Kuwait City: You can return to Kuwait from India from December 7 now only Domestic workers can return to Kuwait. After the Cabinet of Ministers weekly Monday meeting, the government spokesman Tareq Al Mazrem announced that domestic workers will be able to start returning to Kuwait on December 7. Al Mazrem pointed out the cost of the quarantine will be 270 Kuwaiti dinars, not including the flight price.
Civil Aviation Spokesman Saad Al Otaibi revealed to Al Rai they have completed all the preparations and are ready to welcome domestic workers back to Kuwait after a 10-month halt. He added that an online electric platform will be launched soon for sponsors to register the information of domestic workers before their arrival to the country. Although 80,000 domestic workers are expected to return to Kuwait, there is a 600-person cap per day to ensure there is no overcrowding and long lines. Two weeks ago, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said they are in talks with local airlines to determine a fixed cost for flights.
The price for an airline ticket will be as follows: 110 Kuwaiti dinars for those coming from India, 200 Kuwaiti dinars for those coming from Philippines and 145 Kuwaiti dinars for those coming from Sri Lanka, Nepal and Bangladesh. A source told Al Rai that there are fixed costs because if the price was left to the market then it can drastically rise, especially since there is a limited amount of seats.
